India interested in joint development of Russian coal, iron ore fields
PTI news agency reports the Indian side indicated its interest during a meeting on industrial cooperation with Russian representatives
NEW DELHI, August 19. /TASS/. India showed interest in joint development of coalfields and iron ore deposits in Russia, PTI news agency said on Friday.
The Indian side indicated its interest during the meeting of the Russian-Indian working group on upgrade and industrial cooperation.
"The Indian side expressed interest in joint development of coal fields and iron ore mines in Russia. They agreed to exchange information on such areas having potential for cooperation," PTI said citing India’s Commerce and Industry Ministry.
The mining sphere will make possible to promote development of bilateral economic contacts, the Indian side said.
The Russian side has also declared its readiness to participate in the "Make in India" program to develop technological and production capabilities of India in this field and potential supplies of the jointly produced equipment to third countries, PTI reported. This is particularly related to civil aviation and mineral fertilizers production spheres.
The Russian side also "reconfirmed their interest in receiving information about possible participation of Russian companies in the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC)," PTI reported citing the Commerce and Industry Ministry.
The next meeting of the working group will be held in Russia in 2017, PTI said.
