Construction of Kerch Strait Bridge to Crimea to cost $3.54 bln — ordering customer
The sum includes the costs of the project contractor and ordering customer
MOSCOW, July 8. /TASS/. The total cost of construction of a bridge across the Kerch Strait will amount to 227.9 bln rubles ($3.54 bln) in the prices of the respective years. It includes the costs of the project contractor Stroygazmontazh and ordering customer - the Federal Road Agency department Taman, the customer said on Friday.
The bridge across the Kerch Strait is a road-rail bridge intended to span the Strait of Kerch between the Kerch Peninsula of Crimea and the Taman Peninsula of Krasnodar Krai. Total length is expected to be 19 km. The project will include construction of a 2-lane railroad with daily capacity of 47 trains and a 4-lane highway with speed limit of 120 kph and daily capacity of 40,000 vehicles.
The first line of the cable crossing across the Kerch Strait was put into service in pilot conditions on December 2, 2015. The second line increasing the power bridge capacity to 400 MW was commissioned on December 15.
