Russian customs backs cutting duty-free Internet parcels limit — official

Russians are currently able to purchase goods in foreign online shops in the amount up to 1,000 euro and weight of 31 kg per month

MOSCOW, July 7. /TASS/. The Russian Federal Customs Service supports lowering the limit of duty-free Internet parcels, Deputy Head of Service Ruslan Davydov said on Thursday.

"We definitely support reduction of the limit [of duty-free import of parcels - TASS]. Belarus lowered the limit to 22 euro from April 14 of this year," the official said. Russia should follow international practices and the limit introduced by Belarus is acceptable, he added.

Russians are currently able to purchase goods in foreign online shops in the amount up to 1,000 euro and weight of 31 kg per month without duty payment.
