The company plans to hold talks with Russia's gas giant Gazprom

MOSCOW, June 22. /TASS/. Hyperloop Transportation Technologies showed interest in using infrastructure of the Russian gas holding Gazprom and plans to hold negotiations with the company, Chief Executive Officer of Hyperloop Dirk Ahlborn told TASS on Wednesday.

The Hyperloop technology anticipates movement of transportation means in vacuum inside the pipe with the speed up to 1,200 km per hour.

Pipelines for the Hyperloop trains can be built above the existing gas pipelines using their right-of-way, Ahlborn said. "We can actually go above existing right-of-way," he said.

"Obviously when I look at someone like Gazprom and the pipelines… these are massive rights-of-way available… It would be an interesting thing to look at," Ahlborn said. The company plans to hold further meetings with Gazprom’s representatives on use of land and infrastructure of the Russian gas holding, he added.

The Hyperloop technology can be used to carry passengers and freight from China to Europe, Ahlborn said. "Now a container from China can be in Europe within ten - eleven hours… we are talking on hours," he added.
