ST. PETERSBURG, June 17. /TASS/. Novatek has denied media reports about its intention to make an agency agreement with Gazprom to sell gas to Europe implying the purchase of 3 bln cubic meters of gas from Gazprom Export, CEO and co-owner of the company Leonid Mikhelson said at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2016) on Friday.

"The letter [submitted to President Putin - TASS] contains no proposals to sell gas on export netback. We sell gas to Europe and we have a fairly good portfolio of gas consumers in Europe with two thirds of them being long-term contracts. The gas we sell is not ours. We’ve proposed and are discussing the possibility of buying gas from Gazprom Export to replace the gas we buy from the European market for our consumers," he said, adding that the issue is about purchasing 3 bln cubic meters of gas.
