"There are no decisions on this topic, no dominant point of view," Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told journalists on Monday, adding that it is "impossible" to comment on the subject at the moment.
According to him, "it is also clear that there are no existing programs that provide such growth of taxes." "Hardly anyone can predict the economic situation in 2018 after the presidential election, so is this is a hypothetical statement," he said.
On Sunday, The Wall Street Journal said that the Russian authorities reportedly consider raising income-tax levels and increasing value-added tax after 2018 - a presidential election year. The newspaper refers to official anonymous sources.
