Russia, Argentina ready to launch joint energy projects — FM
MOSCOW, April 13. /TASS/. Russia and Argentina have agreed to assume measures to shortly implement a number of joint investment projects, particularly in the energy sector, Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said after talks with his Argentine counterpart Susana Malcorra on Wednesday.
"We’re interested in further increasing the dynamics of our trade and economic ties," the Minister said. He added that the two parties have agreed to "assume needed measures to launch practical implementation of a number of joint investment projects, particularly in the energy sector, in the nearest future." "During her visit to Russia Ms. Malcorra has had and will have quite a few fruitful meetings aimed at clarifying a number of issues, which require extra consideration," Lavrov said.
Russia, Argentina opposed to sanctions, double standards
According to the minister, Russia and Argentina reject unilateral sanctions and double standards.
"We have fundamentally similar approaches towards strategic issues, such as commitment to many-sidedness in international affairs, importance of the democratization of international relations, respect for international law, collective search for answers to numerous challenges and threats, primarily such as terrorism, drug trafficking and other forms of organized crime, rejection of unilateral sanctions and double standards," Lavrov said.
"We highly appreciate the coordination of our actions in the UN, G20 and other international forums," the Russian minister added.
