Estonia’s Eesti Gaas says signed 3-year contract on gas supplies with Gazprom

The volume of gas deliveries under the contract is not disclosed

TALLINN, March 2. /TASS/. Estonian gas company Eesti Gaas has signed a 3-year contract on gas supplies with Russian gas giant Gazprom, Raul Kotov, member of the management board of Eesti Gaas said on Wednesday.

"We have signed a contract with Gazprom on gas supplies in 2016, 2017 and 2018," - he told the local news agency BNS.

Kotov did not mention the volume of gas deliveries under the contract, citing the confidentiality of this information.

"The agreement will make it possible to meet the needs of Estonian consumers for gas," - he said.

In 2015, Gazprom delivered 532 million cubic meters to Estonia.

Eesti Gaas is engaged in purchase, distribution and sale of gas. It also sells electricity. As of September 2014, the main shareholders of the company were Fortum (51.38%), "Gazprom" (37.03%) and Itera Latvija (10.02%).

As it was reported on the official website of Eesti Gaas, in late February, Fortum finalized the deal in selling its stake to AS Infortar investment company.
