Bulgaria’s Overgas denies information on termination of Russian gas supplies

SOFIA, December 31. /TASS/. Bulgaria’s Overgas did not receive a formal letter from Russian Gazprom Export regarding termination of Russian gas supplies for Bulgarian household consumers from January 1, 2016, the Bulgarian gas provider said on Thursday in its press release.
"Overgas did not receive a letter from Gazprom Export that gas supplies will be stopped from January 1, 2016. The company has a long-term contract until 2017 with the Russian partner. Overgas is performing all obligations in respect of contracted parties and has no overdue debts to Gazprom Export," Overgas said.
It was reported earlier Gazprom Export had no plans to deliver gas to its Bulgarian partner Overgas from January 1, chief executive of the Bulgarian Energy Holding EAD said in an interview with the Bulgarian national television.
Overgas is a private company founded in 1992. It supplies gas to 51 districts of Bulgaria and has a gas distribution network with total length over 2,100 km.
At the time of reporting, comments on the situation from Gazprom Export were not available.
