Russian company continues gas production on field offshore Crimea despite terrorist threat
Odesskoe gas field is situated in neutral waters, Chernomorneftegaz CEO says, adding that gas production is on track
SIMFEROPOL, December 14. /TASS/. Russia’s Chernomorneftegaz continues gas production on Odesskoe offshore gas field in neutral waters despite the terrorist threat, Chief Executive Officer of the company Igor Shabanov said on Monday.
"Odesskoe gas field is situated in neutral waters. Gas production is on track. Operations on the field are underway now," Shabanov said.
TASS reported earlier on Monday two drilling rigs of Chernomorneftegaz were towed from the Odesskoe offshore gas field due to higher terrorist threat in neutral waters. The rigs were there during a year after completion of drilling operations, Shabanov said. "We see no obstacles for further operation of the Odesskoe field now," he added.
Odesskoe and Bezymyannoe offshore gas fields became Russian after reunification with Crimea in March 2014.
