MOSCOW, November 19. /TASS/. Russia will be ready to go over to the partial localization of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 production in Iran, if Tehran takes a decision on purchasing ready-made aircraft, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin who has completed a two-day visit to Iran told the Rossiya 24 TV channel.
"If Iran takes these decisions on Sukhoi Superjet and on the future purchase of ready-made aircraft, at some point, using a particular specimen of the delivered aircraft, we will go over to the partial localization of production on Iran’s territory," Rogozin said.
Russia-Iran industrial cooperation possible
According to the Deputy PM, Iran is capable of carrying out work within the country provided a political decision is taken to resume comprehensive industrial cooperation with Russia.
"Now I am fully convinced that there are all the required resources, given a political decision is made to resume comprehensive industrial collaboration with Russia, in particular in the aviation sector, so that the Iranians can carry out the work within their territory," Rogozin said after his two-day visit to Iran.
