Russia’s Lukoil to take part in tender to develop oil fields in Mexico — company’s CEO

SYKTYVKAR, 30 October. /TASS/. Russian oil major Lukoil intends to take part in a new tender for the development of oil fields in the Gulf of Mexico, the company’s CEO Vagit Alekperov said on Friday.

Lukoil Overseas (a subsidiary of Lukoil) was qualified to take part in the tender for the right to develop 14 blocks of oil fields in the Gulf of Mexico on the terms of production sharing agreements.

Besides the subsidiary of Lukoil, 25 companies (including BP Group, Chevron Energia de Mexico, Eni International) were qualified for the final round.

The total volume of oil reserves is estimated at 687 million barrels (94 million tons).
