AVTOVAZ CEO Bo Andresson has expressed his wish to demonstrate the new LADA model to the president
MOSCOW, October 21. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin may have a look at LADA Vesta, a new model designed by the country’s major carmaker AVTOVAZ, in Russia’s Black Sea city of Sochi on Thursday, presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Wednesday.
"Indeed, they will show the car to him, because Bo Andresson [AVTOVAZ CEO] has expressed his wish to demonstrate the new LADA model to the president," Peskov said.
"We cannot exclude that happening," he said.
The commercial production of the Lada Vesta was launched at AVTOVAZ Izhevsk plant on September 25. Some 5,000-6,000 cars will be produced in 2015. The number for the next year is near 70,000.
The model is slated for market launch in 22 Russian cities on November 25 at an approximate price range of 495,000 to 600,000 roubles ($7,900 - $9,600).
On October 22, Putin will take part in the final plenarry session of the 12th annual meeting of the Valdai International Discussion Club opened in Sochi.
