Urals carrier not operating flights to Ukraine is among 20 blacklisted Russian airlines
Urals Airlines does not make flights to Ukrainian airports, and has not received an official notification of this country’s authorities about a ban on its flights, the press service says
YEKATERINBURG, September 17. /TASS/. Russia’s fifth biggest carrier Ural Airlines, which does not operate flights to Ukraine, is on the list of 20 Russian airlines banned from Ukraine, its press service told Tass on Thursday.
Urals Airlines "does not make flights to Ukrainian airports, and has not received an official notification of this country’s authorities about a ban on its flights," the press service said.
Russian flagship carrier Aeroflot and another 20 carriers have been embraced by new sanctions, which Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko decreed on Wednesday.
The sanctions include full or partial bans on flights, air haulage services or transits via the Ukrainian territory.
In addition to Aeroflot as such that flies to Kiev, Odessa, and Kharkov, the sanctions include three of its filial companies — Rossiya, Donavia, and Orenburg Airlines. Transaero, Russia’s second largest airline that went over to Aeroflot’s operational management less than a month ago and that makes flights to Kiev and Odessa, is also on the list.
The third-largest carrier, S7/Sibir airline featured in the sanctions decree has not received any notification from the Ukrainian authorities on the bans on flights and it has not introduced any changes into it schedules of flights to Kiev and Odessa or to transit flights.
