Far East is of huge interest for Chinese investors — Russian deputy PM
China has formed a representative governmental delegation comprising ten ministers and four governors to participate in the Eastern Economic Forum in Russia
VLADIVOSTOK, September 4. /TASS/. Development of investment projects in the Russian Far East is of huge interest for Russia’s counterparts in China, First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov said in an interview with the Rossiya-24 television broadcaster during the Eastern Economic Forum on Friday.
"Chinese counterparts have been asking about the Far East: what the plans are, if we are here for long, if the the agenda will be be extended," he said. "They are interested in investments, in organizing joint companies - for them this region is of huge interest. They realise there are different opportunities here for industrial growth, agriculture, for production of ecology-friendly food."
China has formed a representative governmental delegation to participate in the Eastern Economic Forum. The delegation is headed by Deputy Prime Minister Wang Yang. The forum participants also feature representatives of major Chinese businesses - more than 200 delegates and top managers of transnational corporations, like China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) and Huawei Technologies.
