Ukraine to boost daily gas imports from Slovakia by one third
Ukraine imported 568.3 mln cubic meters of European gas in July and 790.2 mln cubic meters in June
KIEV, August 6. /TASS/. Ukraine is boosting daily imports of natural gas from Slovakia by 33% from August 6, to 30.3 mln cubic meters, the head of press service of Ukraine's gas pipeline operator Ukrtransgaz Maksim Belyavsky said on Thursday.
"As of today we’ve received an application for daily gas transmission from the Slovakian territory at 30,3 mln cubic meters, which exceeds yesterday’s amount by 33%," he said.
In the period from August 1 to 5, a total of 115 mln cubic meters of gas was imported through Slovakia, Belyavsky was quoted as saying by UNIAN information agency.
Ukraine imported 568.3 mln cubic meters of European gas in July and 790.2 mln - in June. Thus, reverse gas supplies from Europe to Ukraine dropped 1.4 times last month.
All gas was imported from Slovakia in July. Hungary suspended gas supplies to Ukraine on July 1, Poland - from May 1. Ukraine suspended imports of Russiam natural gas starting from July 1.
