SIMFEROPOL, June 3. /TASS/. Chinese business intends to participate in energy projects in Crimea, including the supply of equipment for oil and gas extraction, chairman of China’s International Energy Group company board of directors Chen Zhijun said at a meeting with Crimean leader Sergey Aksyonov on Wednesday.

"The Russian-Chinese relations are currently at an unprecedentedly high level. We have now come here to look at the possibilities of cooperation. We can discuss projects in energy and the development of oil and gas deposits and the supply of equipment for this," the Chinese executive said.

"Crimea’s investment potential attracts us very strongly," he added.

No specific proposals for energy projects were outlined at the meeting.

The Chinese businessmen also said they were interested in projects to develop the Crimean infrastructure.

‘We’ll be able to build up mutual complementarity in various spheres. We are interested in infrastructure construction, including airports and other facilities," Zhijun said.

Tourism is another sphere of cooperation between China and Crimea, he said.

"Our companies are interested in all-embracing cooperation with your government, beginning from the elaboration of a plan for tourism development to the attraction of Chinese travelers to Crimea," the presentative of China’s business delegation said.

Crimea Head Aksyonov said the Black Sea peninsula would support all such projects. "Today China possesses advanced technologies in various sectors of science and technology and it would be of interest for us to adopt your positive experience," he said.

"A free economic zone regime is currently in effect in Crimea and we offer preferential taxation. It is safe, comfortable and advantageous for Chinese entrepreneurs to conduct business," he said, addressing Chinese businessmen.

Special working groups in various areas of cooperation with China will be set up soon, he added.
