Production of BMW X4 crossovers starts in Kaliningrad; sales will be launched from June 1

KALININGRAD, May 29. /TASS/. Russian Avtotor company is ready to start producing BMW X4 crossovers at its site in Kaliningrad, the company announced on Friday. Sales of this model will begin on June 1, Avtotor reported.

"Sales of BMW X4 produced in Russia will formally begin on June 1, 2015," company’s representative declared. "Production preparation is currently underway at the plant (in Kaliningrad)," Avtotor’s representative said. No expected production output and the specific production start date were indicated.

Avtotor is currently assembling BMW Series 3, 5, and 7, along with X1, X3, X5, and X6 models. The company was founded in Kaliningrad in 1994 is the first company that started producing cars of foreign brands in Russia. The company produces over 30 models of BMW, Kia, Hyundai, TATA, and Daewoo vehicles.
