BRUSSELS, May 18. /TASS/, Experts will prepare materials on the areas of concern related to customs and technical regulations and phytosanitary control in connection with the forthcoming implementation of the EU and Ukraine association agreement, Russia's Minister of Economic Development Alexey Ulyukayev said on Monday after the trilateral ministerial meeting of the European Union, Russia and Ukraine.

"We are trying to find answers to the questions along with our colleagues," Ulyukayev said. "We went through a big agenda today, and the result was the formulation of the mandate for experts to simulate the issues of most concern to us," he said.

According to Ulyukayev, this refers to technical regulations, customs administration and improvement of the exchange of information at the tripartite level. "And in order to remove concerns about the country of origin of goods imported into Russia - measures in the field of phytosanitary control, which would allow the business not to have additional administrative and other barriers," said Ulyukayev.

Russia did not raise the issue of further postponing the EU and Ukraine Association Agreement at the trilateral meeting, Ulyukayev added.

"No, this was not the case in point. We did not put forward the issue and believe we should use the time available with the maximal efficiency," the minister said.

There is no need in such a postponement, he added. "It is neither in our interests nor in interests of our partners that time goes by but no answers are found to raised questions. We formulated the task for experts so that to receive answers without further delays," Ulyukayev said.

Russia, the European Union and Ukraine agreed the text of the EU - Ukraine free trade area agreement and its effective date of January 1, 2016 will not be changed, Ukraine’s foreign minister Pavel Klimkin said on Monday after the trilateral meeting.

"The main outcome of today’s consultations is the consensus that the text and the timeline to carry the free trade area agreement into effect will not be subject to changes," the minister said.

"This is a fundamental principle agreed by all the parties, including the Russian side," Klimkin added. Trilateral consultations will continue, the minister said.

An agreement was reached in September 2014 at the ministerial meeting in Brussels to postpone the implementation of Ukraine and EU association agreement for 15 months until 2015 year-end due to risks for the Russian economy.
