Franco-Russian Commerce Chamber: French investment in Russia on the rise
According to president of the Franco-Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Emmanuel Quidet, French investment in Russia may total several billion US dollars in 2015
MOSCOW, March 12. /TASS/. French investment in Russia is growing, President of the Franco-Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Emmanuel Quidet said on Thursday.
"The French business is in Russia for long and we continue investing in the Russian economy and already today we’re increasing the volumes of our investments in the country," Quidet said in reply to a TASS’ question after a meeting held by State Duma Speaker Sergey Naryshkin with foreign investors.
French investment in Russia may total "several billion US dollars" in 2015, he said.
The French Auchan retail network and other companies are present on a large scale in Russia, Quidet said.
"Total foreign investment in Russia reached $20 billion in 2014," he said.
"The meeting held today was exceptionally useful so that we could understand, which initiatives the State Duma adopts from the viewpoint of improving the economic situation and how we, as the French business and international companies, can help this process," the head of the Franco-Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry said.
