Apple not to cease supplies to Russia

MOSCOW, February 2. /TASS/. Apple has not suspended electronics supplies to Russia, the representatives of retailers and operators having direct supplies contracts reported to TASS.
"Svyaznoy (Russian retailer) receives goods from Apple Rus (Apple branch in Russia) on a regular basis. For instance, the nearest large-scale arrival to our stock is expected before the end of the week. We are not speaking of any supplies termination, they are being carried out in line with our arrangements with the partner," Maria Zaikina, the retailer representative, said to TASS.
"Supplies of Apple products to Vimpelcom (communications provider) are carried out in the routine mode," the operator's press office reported to TASS.
"We haven't received any notifications from Apple company on suspending supplies to Russia," a source in another Russian mobile communications operator informed TASS. The information was confirmed by a source in an Apple distributor in Russia.
Apple has not provided an official commentary. However, according to a source close to the producer, Apple has never sent its Russian partners a notification on suspension of supplies to the region.
It was earlier reported on Applestage.com the producer decided to suspend its supplies to Russia for two weeks due to the unstable situation on the currency market.
Apple Inc. raised its prices on new iPhone 6 models in Russia twice in the end of 2014 because of volatile ruble exchange rate fluctuations. As a result, the 16-GB iPhone 6 price in Russia rose by 35.1% and 128-GB iPhone 6 by 32%.
