MOSCOW, January 29. /TASS/. First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov criticized the Central Bank’s strive to fence off its activity from the government by all means and called it "manic at times."

Shuvalov made such a comment on the idea of the First Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank Sergey Shvetsov to take the financial sector out of the framework law on self-regulation.

"I do not support such a proposal and believe that the Central Bank’s position to underscore its independence from the government is simply manic at times," Shuvalov said.
