VIENNA, January 29. /TASS/. Insufficient gas supplies in Ukrainian underground gas storages (UGS) can jeopardize stability of supplies to Europe, a representative of Gazprom Export Sergey Komlev said on Thursday at the European Gas Conference.

"Insufficient gas volumes in storages during the cold winter season can threaten stability of supplies," he said. "This is a risk we cannot take."

Komlev added that the Russian gas holding met its "winter package" commitments to help Ukraine in the winter peak demand period. He said Gazprom continues to deliver gas to Ukraine despite the existing debt for supplies during prior period.

The company remains committed to stable gas supplies to its European partners, Komlev said.
