Gazprom to double capacity of its European gas storages by 2017 — expert

VIENNA, January 29. /TASS/. Gazprom is planning to double capacity of its underground gas storages (UGS) in Europe by 2017, a representative of Gazprom Export Sergey Komlev said on Thursday at the European Gas Conference.
"The company is planning to increase UGS capacities by 5 billion cubic meters by 2017," he said.
Komlev said UGS capacity growth will cover construction of new and expansion of existing storages.
He added that Gazprom is always viewing storage capacity as a key factor of stable gas supplies.
