Brent oil price plunges below $59 per barrel

LONDON, December 16. /TASS/. The price of Brent crude fell by 3.8% on the InterContinental Exchange (ICE) in London to below $59 per barrel on Tuesday.

Oil prices continued falling after the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) said in its last week’s report that global demand for oil produced by OPEC member states would hit its 12-year low in 2015.

The ruble fell further on the Moscow Exchange on Tuesday to 97 per euro and 78 per dollar amid declining global oil prices.
