Russian Customs Service has no problems with the Belarusian counterparts

MOSCOW, December 11. /TASS/. The Russian Federal Customs Service makes no checks of cargoes going from Belarus to Kazakhstan via Russia, service’s head Andrey Belyaninov told Tass on Thursday.

“It is incorrect to say border restoration is under way,” he said of the countries that are members of the Customs Union of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan.

“All efforts are now directed towards developing a joint routine (of control over cargoes), and we have no problems with the Belarusian customs services,” Belyaninov said.

The service makes no checks of transit cargoes from Belarus to Kazakhstan, he said. “It is out of our range, this concerns Rosselkhoznadzor (Russia's agricultural watchdog) and a similar service in Belarus,” he said.

The Customs Union of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan came into existence on January 1, 2010. In May 2014, the presidents of the three countries signed an agreement on the Eurasian Economic Union, which comes into effect on January 1, 2015.
