Russia highly appreciates cooperation with Vietnam — parliament speaker
Moscow attaches great significance to inter-parliamentary ties aimed to develop relations of mutual understanding and the deepest cooperation between Russia and Vietnam, parliamentary speaker says
HANOI, December 2. /TASS/. Russia highly appreciates its cooperation with Vietnam, parliamentary lower house Speaker Sergey Naryshkin said on Tuesday at a meeting with his Vietnamese counterpart, National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung.
“We attach great importance to meetings with our Vietnamese friends and we highly appreciate the level of cooperation between Russia and Vietnam in all spheres — political, economic, and humanitarian, alongside military and technical cooperation,” said Naryshkin, currently on a visit to Hanoi.
“We attach great significance to our inter-parliamentary ties aimed to develop relations of friendship, mutual understanding and the deepest cooperation between our countries and peoples,” Naryshkin said, noting that he visited Vietnam for the first time and had “most positive and most bright” impressions.
The Vietnamese politician said Naryshkin’s visit was “especially important” to intensify bilateral ties and comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Russia, as well as to strengthen cooperation between the two countries’ parliaments.
The visit comes as Russia and Vietnam prepare to mark important dates in the history of bilateral relations: the 65th anniversary since the establishment of diplomatic relations in late January 2015, the 40th anniversary since the liberation of southern Vietnam and unification of the country, the 70th anniversary since Vietnam proclaimed independence and the 70th anniversary since the victory in World War Two.
