Ukraine imports $280 million worth of gas from Slovakia in October
Ukraine will buy Russian gas in winter only if it needs additional gas while reserve supplies from Europe will be the main source
BRATISLAVA, November 6. /TASS/. Ukraine imported 809 million cubic meters of gas in reverse mode from Slovakia paying $280 million in October, Slovak gas transport system operator Eustream said in a statement on Thursday.
The average price stood at $350 for 1,000 cubic meters.
In September, Ukraine imported about 780 million cubic meters of gas for $270 million from Slovakia.
The capacity of the Voyany-Uzhgorod pipeline launched in September, amounts to about 27 million cubic meters of gas from Slovakia daily on average or 10 billion cubic meters per year and it is loaded until 2020, Eustream said.
Slovak authorities said earlier that they guaranteed to pump only 17.6 million cubic meters of gas daily from October 1.
