The gas distributor is also negotiating a cut in price for Russia's gas supplies

BRATISLAVA, October 23. /TASS/. Slovakia's national natural gas distributor Slovensky plynarensky priemysel AS (SPP) is negotiating a cut in price and a 50% increase in supplies with Russian gas giant Gazprom for the 2014-2015 winter period, a SPP spokesperson told PRIME Thursday.

“We are constantly negotiating with our suppliers contract parameters’ adjustment aimed at reflecting current market price movements,” the spokesperson said.

Gazprom sends 6.5 billion cubic meters of gas to Slovakia per year under a 20-year deal signed in 2008.

Gazprom adjusted the price for SPP in late 2011. Under the contract, the price may be revised only once in two years.
