It is proposed to introduce amendments to the laws on foundations of foreign trade state regulation and gas export

MOSCOW, October 16. /TASS/. First deputy chairman of Russia’s parliament State Duma Committee for Industry Vladimir Gutenev offers to ban Russian gas re-export to Ukraine in legislation. Lawmakers are working on a specific bill which is planned to be put up for debate in parliament before the end of current parliamentary session, Gutenev told TASS.

It is proposed to introduce amendments to the laws on foundations of foreign trade state regulation and gas export, as well as other regulatory acts in this sphere seeking to prevent damage to Russian economic interests.

“I find it expedient to introduce in legislation a requirement to include a delivered gas re-export ban in foreign trade contracts on Russian gas export to other countries, if a foreign partner (a consumer of exported produce) does not honor contractual terms to pay for minimal annual gas supply on the take-or-pay principle, as well as to countries which have a debt to Russia,” the lawmaker said.

Ukraine is the main Russian gas debtor.
