BEIJING, October 14. /TASS/. Cooperation between Russia and China is not aimed against any third country and helps to enhance stability in the world, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei said on Tuesday.
“Russian-Chinese cooperation is mutually beneficial. It is based on mutual trust and is not directed against third countries,” Hong told journalists, commenting on Chinese Premier Li Keqiang’s visit to Russia. “It helps to foster stability in the world,” he added.
China’s stance on developments in Ukraine remains unchanged, the diplomat said, noting that “the Ukrainian issue is extremely complicated.” “Considering the historical background, it should be resolved through dialogue,” Hong said. “We hope that the situation in Ukraine will normalize as soon as possible and this will help stabilize the situation in the region.”
On Monday, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and Chinese counterpart Li Keqiang held the 19th regular meeting of the heads of government of Russia and China that was crowned with the signing of a package of 38 documents.
