Polish reverse gas supplies to Ukraine fall 30% in first days of October

In the first ten days of October, Ukraine received 28.1 million cubic meters of gas in reverse flows from Poland

WARSAW, October 13. /TASS/. Reverseas supplies from Poland to Ukraine decreased about 30% over the first ten days of October to 28.1 million cubic meters, Poland’s gas transport system operator Gaz-System said in a statement Monday.

In September, Ukraine received 117 million cubic meters of gas in reverse mode, including 40.3 million cubic meters of gas over the first ten days of September.

The gas measuring station Hermanowicze Drozdovichi between Poland and Ukraine has a capacity of 1.5 billion cubic meters of gas annually.

In the beginning of October, Poland resumed reverse gas flows to Ukraine after a temporary halt due to works on the pipeline agreed between the Polish and Ukrainian gas transportation operators. Reverse flows were halted on October 2 and resumed several hours later.

Russia-Ukraine gas dispute

Russia stopped gas flows to Ukraine in June over an unsettled dispute over debt and gas prices. Russia said it is ready to resume natural gas supplies to Ukraine if Kiev repays its gas debt and makes advance payments for new gas deliveries.

The Naftogaz oil and gas company stopped paying for the consumed Russian natural gas on March 25. As of August 1, the overall debt of Naftogaz to Gazprom for supplied gas totaled about $5.3 billion.
