The roadmap for joining the common economic space is yet another step towards our country’s accession to the Eurasian Economic Union, Kyrgyz Prime Minister Dzhoomart Otorbayev says

BISHKEK, October 9. /TASS/. The Kyrgyz government has unanimously approved a roadmap for joining the common economic space of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan, the government’s press office said on Wednesday.

Kyrgyz Prime Minister Dzhoomart Otorbayev said at the government’s special meeting on Wednesday that Kyrgyzstan had actually completed work on implementing the roadmap for joining the Customs Union of the three ex-Soviet republics, and this issue was kept under control of the Kyrgyz president, parliament and government.

“The roadmap for joining the common economic space is yet another step towards our country’s accession to the Eurasian Economic Union,” Otorbayev said.

“We are fulfilling our obligations consistently and in full as part of the integration process, and I hope that we’ll be able by the yearend to sign the treaty on Kyrgyzstan’s accession to the Eurasian Economic Union,” the Kyrgyz premier said.

The Kyrgyz government has submitted the list of bills required for Kyrgyzstan’s accession to the Customs Union to the national parliament. The Kyrgyz government also plans to submit draft laws necessary for joining the common economic space to the national parliament soon.

Kyrgyzstan decided in the spring of 2011 to join the Customs Union and six months later filed an official request for its participation in the economic bloc. Subsequently, the Kyrgyz leadership agreed with Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan on simultaneously joining the Customs Union and the common economic space from January 1, 2015.
