Decision on Sakhalin-2 3rd stage to be made in July-September 2015 — Gazprom CEO

ST. PETERSBURG, October 7. /TASS/. Gazprom CEO Alexey Miller said Tuesday that a decision on construction of a third stage at Russia’s Sakhalin-2, the only liquefied natural gas (LNG) production project in the country at the moment, may be made in July-September 2015.

“The decision on the project’s development should be ready by the end of the third quarter of 2015,” Miller said, adding that he has discussed the third stage’s implementation with Royal Dutch Shell CEO Ben Van Beurden.

In June, Gazprom Deputy CEO Alexander Medvedev said that a final investment decision on the third stage of construction of Sakhlain-2’s LNG plant will be made by the end of 2015.

Gazprom holds 50% in the operator of the project, Sakhalin Energy. Royal Dutch Shell owns 27.5%, while Japan’s Mitsui and Mitsubishi hold 12.5% and 10.0%, respectively.
