Unilateral annulment of South Stream agreements is impossible — minister
European Parliament adopted a resolution recommending to cancel agreements with Moscow in the energy sector, including the South Stream pipeline project
SOCHI, September 19 /ITAR-TASS/. Inter-governmental agreements for construction of the South Stream gas pipeline can be annulled only on agreement by the parties. No unilateral termination is possible, Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak said in an interview with the Rossiya 24 television news channel on Friday.
”No one can change inter-governmental agreements with countries through which the South Stream project is supposed to run. It is necessary to have the consent of the two parties,” Novak explained.

The European Parliament discussed at its plenary session on Thursday the Ukraine crisis and the relations between the European Union and Russia.
The resolution, adopted at the session, ran that the European Union should consider cancelling agreements with Moscow in the energy sector, including the South Stream pipeline project.
