Rogozov may become new CEO of Russia’s VKontakte — source
VKontakte’s founder Pavel Durov resigned from this post in late April
MOSCOW, September 16. /ITAR-TASS/. Russian social network VKontakte may be headed by Andrei Rogozov, who is currently in charge for its development, a source close to VKontakte’s shareholders said Tuesday.
At present, the position of the network’s CEO is vacant. VKontakte’s founder Pavel Durov resigned from this post in late April.
The conflict between VKontakte’s shareholders has delayed the appointment of a new CEO, whose duties are now performed on a temporarily basis by Boris Dobrodeyev.
Earlier on Tuesday, Mail.Ru Group, which owned 52% in VKontakte, said that it had consolidated 100% of the social network by acquiring the remaining stake from investment fund United Capital Partners (UCP), controlled by Ilya Shcherbovich, for $1.47 billion.
UCP, Mail.Ru Group and Pavel Durov also agreed to abolish mutual claims.
