Social network giant blocks more than 200,000 compromised accounts

MOSCOW, September 15. / ITAR-TASS/. Administrators of Russia's biggest social network Vkontakte have blocked 226,000 accounts registered with the leaked mail accounts of Yandex, Mail.ru and Gmail, Vkontakte spokesman Georgi Lobushkin said on Monday.
Vkontakte, with 265 million users worldwide, has frozen access to 185,000 Mail.ru accounts, 31,000 with Yandex and 10,000 with Gmail.
News of the 10 million compromised accounts was reported by the CNews website on September 10. All the operators said most of the accounts were not being used and had been created by robots.
