MOSCOW, September 05. /ITAR-TASS/. Food producers from countries, banned to export their foodstuffs to Russia after it imposed food sanctions in retaliation for economic pressure from the west, intend to take part in an international exhibition "World Food-2014" due in Moscow on September 15-18.

The Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phyto-Sanitary Control (Rosselkhoznadzor) said it had received many questions asking to explain the rules for the transportation of products to be displayed at World Food-2014 in Moscow, it said.

"The transportation of the products under code numbers TH 0201-0203,0207,0210,0301-0308, 0401-06,16000 produced in the EU countries, Australia, Canada, Norway and the United States, which imports are temporarily banned in Russia, is allowed exclusively for purposes of exhibiting these products at exhibition desks," the veterinary watchdog said in a document that explains the rules.

It did not say what particular countries on the "sanction list" had asked Rosselkhoznadzor for explanations.

On August 7 Russia adopted a package of measures in retaliation for the sanctions earlier imposed against Russia by the United States, Canada, the European Union and Norway. The Russian sanctions envisage a one-year ban on imports of fruit, vegetables, dairy and meat products from these countries.

The Russian Federal Customs service has estimated that an overall amount of the products, to which the Russian ban applies, was worth $9.1 billion in 2013.
