MOSCOW, September 02. /ITAR-TASS/. Russia’s oil major Rosneft and ExxonMobil have begun seismic exploration work at the Anisinsko-Novosibirsk and Ust-Oleneksky licensed sites in the Laptev Sea ahead of their license liabilities, Rosneft said in a news release.
2D seismic exploration work is expected to produce extensive regional geological structure data and identify promising oil and gas fields for further localization and preparation for drilling.
Rosneft was licensed to explore and produce hydrocarbons at the Anisinsko-Novosibirsk and Ust-Oleneksky sites in 2013. They area in question totals 205,000 kilometers.
