MOSCOW, August 19. /ITAR-TASS/. Six criminal lawsuits have been filed in connection with Rusnano joint stock company, which implements a state policy for developing nano-industries in Russia.

“Some criminal proceedings were initiated after audits by state bodies, others were opened at our own request,” the holding’s chief Anatoly Chubais told ITAR-TASS on Tuesday.

One of the lawsuits concerns Rosnano’s activities in a period before March 2011 when it was still a state corporation.

“At that time, we asked the Ministry of Economy to help developing a framework for adopting laws on energy efficiency and the peculiarities of purchasing innovative products by state-owned companies,” Chubais said in the Tass interview.

“We organized a bidding to attract experts to develop proposals which we included in the regulations. Later we were told that we had no right to order an expertise because it was not written down in the law on state corporations.

Chubais said he considered all claims to the Rosnano employees linked to the aforesaid case to be unfair.

The activities of the offshore Nanoenergo Fund Limited in Cyprus, which made suspicious transfers to some Russian companies, caused financial losses to Rosnano.

“We suspect them of stealing money from us in an absolutely impudent and swinish way. We turned to the Interior Ministry and filed a lawsuit in Cyprus. We also sent a complaint to the Central Bank of Cyprus, which regulates the Nanoenergo Fund’s activities, “Chubais explained, criticizing the Fund for attempts to organize a smear campaign against Rosnano.

“But they are unlikely to surprise us with their actions. We are going to attack and fight to the very end,” Chubais said.

Rosnano, formerly the Russian Corporation of Nanotechologies, is a joint-stock company created and owned by the government of Russia and aimed at commercializing developments in nanotechnology. Rosnano's task is to create by 2015 a nano-industry in Russia that will make marketable products worth 900 billion rubles ($29 billion).
