Russia’s Gazprom in talks with Italy’s Edison over gas pricing
Edison applied to the court in April 2013 over prices for Gazprom's gas supplies and expects a decision to be made sometime in 2014-2015
MOSCOW, August 13./ITAR-TASS/. Russian gas giant Gazprom is in talks with Italy’s gas company Edison, a unit of Electricite de France (EdF), over gas pricing while the Stockholm Arbitration Court is considering Edison’s case against Gazprom, the giant said in a statement Wednesday.
Edison applied to the court in April 2013 over prices for Gazprom's gas supplies and expects a decision to be made sometime in 2014-2015.
In May, Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller signed an agreement on new pricing terms with Italy’s Eni. Gazprom did not disclose details, but Eni said that gas prices will be indexed to the spot market price.
Polish energy company PGNIG earlier said it hoped to revise the price of gas supplies with Gazprom in November.
Bloomberg reported in June that another Gazprom’s client GdF Suez, France’s largest natural gas company, planned to renegotiate their gas supply next year.
In February, Gazprom agreed to reduce the price for Germany’s RWE under the existing contract. Further discounts may be discussed in 2015.
