Five more Brazilian companies get permits to export meat to Russia

RIO DE JANEIRO, August 05. /ITAR-TASS/. The Brazilian Agriculture Ministry said on Monday Russian sanitarian authorities decided to permit meat export to five more companies from the South American country.

Beef supplies to Russia are now permitted from Mataboi, Frigostrela, Marfrig and Agra. Refrigerated slaughterhouse Cotriji was granted the right to export pork on Russian market.

“Russia sets strict requirements to food products which are delivered on the country’s market, so, Brazil has to take effort to meet Russian standards maintaining co-operation,” Agriculture Minister of the South American country Neri Geller said. Larger supplies on Russian market “point to recognized quality and reliability of Brazilian produce which is under inspection control system of the Agriculture Ministry.”

Brazil has supplied agrarian products worth $2.72 billion to Russia in the previous year, the government of the South American state said. As much as 44.1% or $1.2 billion fell on beef export. Russian importers have purchased pork worth $412 million that made 15.1% of all Brazilian agrarian supplies to the country.
