Russia’s Sukhoi, Ilyushin Finance to supply 8 SSJ-100s to EU companies
“That contract was mainly designed for orders in countries of Southeast Asia,” the leasing company’s CEO Alexander Rubtsov says
FARNBOROUGH (UK), July 16./ITAR-TASS/. Sukhoi Civil Aircraft and Russia’s aircraft leasing company Ilyushin Finance on Wednesday have signed an agreement to supply eight Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ-100) planes to EU companies from September 2015 through January-June 2016, the leasing company’s CEO Alexander Rubtsov said.
The deal was signed within the scope of a firm agreement, concluded by the companies in 2013 on supply of 20 SSJ-100 aircraft, Rubtsov said.
“That contract was mainly designed for orders in countries of Southeast Asia,” he said, adding that supplies to this region have been delayed because of some reasons and the sides decided to sign this new agreement.
Ilyushin Finance is holding talks with potential EU buyers, including participants of the Farnborough International Airshow, where the new contract was signed, and UK companies, as well, Rubtsov said. He declined to name potential buyers.
