MOSCOW, July 16. /ITAR-TASS/. Russian aircraft corporation MiG has received orders for about 100 aircraft for the medium term, Chief Executive Sergei Korotkov told ITAR-TASS.

The corporation reached the planned capacity on Wednesday and should sustain it, he added, so the contracts were concluded accordingly, the company manufacturing and supplying about 24 aircraft a year. The corporation reported net profit, Korotkov said, but warned this year would show “whether we were right in evaluating our abilities”.

In particular, this year the company plans to supply ten MiG-29К/KUB to the Russian navy out of the total 24 orders to be implemented until 2016; some have been already supplied on schedule. Six carrier-based aircraft will go to India. Under the two agreements signed in 2004 and 2010, the Asian country has received 27 aircraft out of a total amount of 45. According to MiG estimates, the fleet in India can increase but Korotkov did not specify the amount.

The corporation’s chief executive mentioned the contract for 16 multipurpose fighters MiG-29SMT signed with the Russian Ministry of Defense at the start of the year. Eight aircraft are to be supplied annually in 2015 and 2016, Korotkov said, adding production would start this year.
