Latin America promising market for Russian military aviation
Latin Amerika keen to strengthen their air forces and aviation industry
MOSCOW, July 14. /ITAR-TASS/. Latin American countries are keen to strengthen their air forces and aviation industry and are one of the most promising markets for Russian military aviation over the medium term, head of the department on exports of special property and services at Russian Rosoboronexport intermediary agency, Sergey Kornev, told journalists on the opening day of major airshow Farnborough-2014.
“Almost in every region, there are countries, with which cooperation has not started yet or is nascent but which express keen interest in Russian equipment and weapons,” Kornev said. “We’ll see no quick decisions, and speaking of new markets or new-quality relationships, it is more appropriate to talk about a 5-10-year term.”
Initial offers had been made to all potential customers, he added. Latin America was among the promising markets, Kornev said, where a large number of countries were swiftly developing and keen to strengthen their air forces and aviation industry and, most importantly, were friendly towards Russia.
