Russia’s broad monetary base rises 3.7%

MOSCOW, July 11. /ITAR-TASS/. Russia’s broad monetary base increased 3.7% in June and fell 6.3% in January-June to 9.672 trillion rubles as of July 1, the Central Bank of Russia (CBR) said Friday.

The broad monetary base includes currency in circulation, bank reserves within the central bank, bank correspondent account balances and deposits within the central bank, the central bank’s bonds held by banks, as well as its buyback obligations.

In 2013, the broad monetary base increased 6.6% to 10.504 trillion rubles as of January 1.
