Russia expects difficulties in bilateral trade after Ukraine's EU association

MOSCOW, July 09. /ITAR-TASS/. Russia expects Ukraine's association with the European Union will complicate the country's bilateral trade with Russia, Russian Deputy Minister of Economic Development, Alexei Likhachev, told the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

On July 11, Russia would share its “absolutely negative conclusions about Ukraine's EU association” at the trilateral meeting in Brussels, he added.

Trade volume with Ukraine continues to decrease, particularly Russia’s supplies to the country, Likhachev said.

“Formally our supplies to Ukraine grow, but exclusively due to the supplies of gas that has not been paid for,” he said.

As of July 8 Ukraine’s debt reached $5.3 billion, the deputy minister said.
