Belarusian trains en route to Russia's south to bypass Ukraine

MINSK, June 27. /ITAR-TASS/. Belarusian trains bound for resorts in Russia’s Krasnodar territory will bypass Ukraine on their way to the final destinations after the Belarusian Railways have officially changed their routes.

In a statement released on Friday, the Belarusian Railways press service said that it had changed the routes of trains bound for resorts in the Krasnodar territory that used to run via Ukraine because of systematic delays and late arrivals.

“The Belarusian Railways is taking the aforesaid measures after consultations with the State Administration of Ukraine’s Railway Transport and the Russian Railways joint-stock company,” the Belarusian Railways said in its statement.

Trains 46/45 Minsk-Mineralnye Vody (Russia’s Stavropol territory); 302/301 Minsk-Adler and 390/389 Minsk-Anapa will now travel via the Russian cities of Smolensk, Bryansk and Rostov-on-Don.

Ticket sales for the aforesaid trains will start soon. The Belarusian Railways will return the cost of tickets for the cancelled trains to all the passengers upon their request.
