MOSCOW, June 20. /ITAR-TASS/. Russia’s Energy Minister Alexander Novak and his Turkish counterpart Taner Yildiz have discussed what to do if Ukraine syphons off gas from Gazprom’s export pipeline, Novak said in a briefing late Thursday.
On Monday, Russian gas giant Gazprom turned off gas flows to Ukraine after the two states failed to agree on the price of gas, but flows to Europe, including to Turkey, which receives Russian gas via the western route and the Blue Stream pipeline linking the two states directly, are maintained.
Novak also said that he is aware that Turkey is also raising the price issue, although he did not discuss it with Yildiz because it is a matter of commercial talks.
