MOSCOW, June 18. /ITAR-TASS/. Russia’s Aeroflot air carrying company has been recognized as the most punctual air carrier in the world in May 2014, according to the rating published by the FlightStars social statistics service, a source in Aeroflot told ITAR-TASS on Wednesday.

In May, Aeroflot performed 91.18% of flights strictly to schedule, FlightStars said in its monthly report. Aeroflot proved more reliable than its main rivals —Scandinavian Airlines System (SAS), Lufthansa, British Airways and Emirates.

According to the 2013 rating, Aeroflot was recognized one of the five most punctual airline companies in Europe, leaving Air France, British Airways and Alitalia trailing behind.

The FlightStars portal registers even the slightest flight delays not exceeding 15 minutes, and monitors online more than 150,000 flights performed all over the world.
